Mike Attie an award-winning filmmaker whose films have screened at major international film festivals including CPH:DOX, Hot Docs, San Francisco and Sundance. Mike's feature documentary In Country had its world premiere at the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival and international premiere at Hot Docs in Toronto. The film was supported by the Sundance Documentary Film Program, IFP and the Points North Institute. His latest film, The Field Trip, premiered at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival and was released by the New York Times as part of their OpDocs Series. He is a professor of film and the Film program director at the University of the Arts.

This one-year grant will support "Abortion Helpline, This is Lisa." The short documentary features counselors from the Women's Medical Fund responding to phone calls from women seeking help. The film explores the economic stigmas and legislation that determines access to abortion in the U.S.
