Samíl is an award-winning creative organizer who co-creates projects with community members to push for social change. They’ve worked over the years in emerging risk response, affordable housing and eviction prevention, and communication science. Most recently, Samíl served as field director for State Representative Rick Krajewski’s successful re-election campaign.

As an immigrant, Samíl has lived in many places—Venezuela, Miami, North Carolina, Texas, Seattle—and has learned and shared lessons from community leaders along the way. Samíl is thrilled to finally settle and call Philadelphia home. In their spare time, Samíl loves writing screenplays with their brother, experimental cooking with friends, playing pickup sports, being a Mighty Writers mentor, and trying to make sense of quarks and spacetime.
